Nitrogen Fertilisers

Nitrogen fertilisers are the most popular ameliorations in the global agricultural industry and account for approximately 60% of all fertilisers applied. 

Since nitrogen is a core macronutrient for plants, crop yield is mainly dependent on the application of this fertiliser type.

Nitrogen fertilisers are extensively used in non-black soil regions, in humid forest steppe areas and in irrigated farming regions with soils lacking nitrogen. Nitrogen fertiliser is applied on an ongoing basis as long as nitrogen is completely taken up by crops in one agricultural season.

The Group produces three types of nitrogen fertilisers: urea, ammonium nitrate, and urea-ammonium nitrate.
