Talitsky Key Parameters
- Balance reserves (ABC1+C2): 700 million tonnes of ore (KCl: 248 million tonnes, K2O: 157 million tonnes)
- Mine commissioning: 2016
- Design capacity to be reached: 2018
- The mine has a design capacity of 2 million tonnes of potash per annum (upon commissioning of the second stage).
2008
In March 2008, VPC won the licence auction to develop the Talitsky area of the Verkhnekamsk potassium-magnesium salt deposit in Perm Krai and started preparing a development project.
2009
The potash project will enable the Group both to provide its own companies with potash used in complex fertiliser production, and to enter new market segment as a potash player.
2010
The land allocation certificate for the Talitsky mine was approved by the Berezniki municipal administration. The Company obtained a positive sanitary and epidemiological finding that the Talitsky mine’s location complies with state standards and requirements. The Talitsky environmental monitoring programme was designed and approved by the Perm Krai subsoil exploration authority. The Company performed field surveys and laboratory research. Five exploration wells were drilled, geophysical and laboratory surveys were performed. Building of access roads and preparation of drilling sites started.
2011
VPC signed a general design contract with Belgorchimprom (Republic of Belarus) for the Talitsky integrated mining and processing facility.
